James Cuthill is a professional full-time bagpiping instructor and pipe band leader. He is a Professional grade solo competitor and an exam approved adjudicator with the Western US Pipe Band Association. James has won countless prizes over the years in both solo and band competitions, and in three different countries: the United States, Canada, and Scotland. He has competed at invitational solo events including the 2004 George Sherriff Memorial (Ontario, Canada) and the 2009 George M. Bell Memorial (New Jersey, USA). James has played with every level of pipe band over his years including the Colorado Youth in Grade IV, Robert Malcolm Memorial Juvenile/Grade III where he first served as Pipe Major, Colorado Skye in Grade III again as Pipe Major, Robert Malcolm Memorial in Grade II and David Urquhart Travel in Grade I. He currently serves as the Director and Senior Instructor of the Colorado Youth Pipe Band program. As a teacher of the pipes, James trains students of all ages and abilities. Through his dedication to teaching, his students continuously win prizes of their own. |
